Three kinds of tool answer this question
“Facebook comment auto-reply” is used for three different products, and most of the confusion in tool lists comes from mixing them:
- Keyword-to-Messenger tools. A comment containing your keyword gets a short public reply and a private Messenger message with a link, a code or a question. Built to turn comments into leads.
- Moderation suites. Rules hide or delete spam, links and abuse, and reply to common questions, often across ads as well as posts. Built for brands with large comment volumes.
- Meta’s own inbox. Business Suite’s Comment to message automation sends a message reply to keyword comments. Free and basic.
All three connect through Meta’s official API and work only on Facebook Pages. This page covers seven tools across the three groups. Komently is our product and is on the list; every other fact comes from the tool’s own pricing page or help center, checked on 28 September 2026.

Komently watches one Page post, every post, or the next one you publish for your keywords, replies under the comment with rotating variants, and sends the Messenger message: text with a link, a button card, media, or an email ask that holds the link back until the address arrives. Meta Business Suite
Best for: One free keyword reply without another app
In Business Suite on desktop, Inbox, then Automations, includes a Comment to message template. Meta describes it as sending “a message reply to comments on your posts that contain specific keywords or phrases”. It sits beside instant replies, away messages and FAQ answers, and costs nothing.

Where it falls short: Desktop-only setup, keyword matching only, and no email step, button cards or reply to earlier comments.

Best for: Flows that continue across Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp
ManyChat’s Facebook Comments trigger replies to keyword comments on Page posts, publicly and in Messenger, and hands the person into a visual flow that can collect data, tag contacts and route to a human.

Where it falls short: Each Facebook Page needs its own ManyChat account and subscription, every commenter counts as an active contact, and its docs say the trigger cannot answer comments made before it was set up.

Best for: AI qualification after the first message
Chatfuel’s comments autoreply sends a public reply or a private Messenger response to Page comments, then hands over to an AI agent that answers questions and qualifies the lead. Its plans include unlimited contacts and messages, with fair-use limits on AI.

Where it falls short: The promotional price may not last, and comment automation is one entry point to an AI agent rather than the product’s focus.

Best for: The largest free allowance on Facebook and Instagram
ReplyRush counts DMs sent and gives 1,500 a month free on one Instagram account and one Facebook Page. Paid tiers add public comment replies, an email collector that sends the link once the address arrives, follow-gated DMs and Sendback for people who commented earlier.

CommentGuard moderates first: it hides or deletes unwanted comments and replies to the rest on posts, ads, Stories and Reels, with a private Messenger message as an option. Pages and team members are unlimited; the bill follows the number of comments processed.

NapoleonCat is a social inbox and moderation suite. Its auto-moderation rules can reply as a comment or in a private message on Facebook and organic Instagram, alongside a shared inbox, reporting and scheduling.

Where it falls short: Priced for social teams, and on Instagram ads it can only reply publicly, hide or delete.
Meta’s rules every tool works inside
These come from Meta, not from any one tool, so no tool on this list can promise more:
- Pages only. Personal profiles and Groups cannot be automated. A tool that asks for your Facebook password is outside the rules.
- One private reply per comment, sent within seven days of the comment. The conversation continues only if the person answers.
- Only people who commented. No official tool can message a list of people who never interacted with the Page.
- One app handles Messenger. With two tools on one Page, choose the default app in the Page’s messaging settings, or taps on buttons can reach the wrong tool.

How to choose
Three questions narrow it quickly:
- Do you want leads or a cleaner comment section? Leads point to the keyword-to-Messenger tools; spam and ad comments point to the moderation suites.
- What should the Messenger message do? A link or a code works anywhere. An email before the link, button cards or reaching earlier commenters narrows the list.
- How many Pages, and how busy? Per-contact and per-comment billing grow with every commenter; per-Page subscriptions grow with every Page.
