How it works
There is no canvas and no tree of conditions. You write one instruction, and the AI answers each message with it:
- They message you
- AI reads the message and the post
- A written reply, in your tone
The AI sees what the person said, the conversation so far and the post the conversation started from, so it can answer “how much is it” about the right product without you wiring a branch for every item you sell.

What a conversation looks like
Say your instruction is “You sell a €39 skincare set. Friendly, short answers. Never promise medical results. Send people to the shop link.”
“Is this ok for sensitive skin?”
The AI answers from your instruction and the product in the post, without promising anything medical, and offers the link.
“And how long does delivery take to Spain?”
A keyword automation would have nothing for this. The AI keeps the thread going and answers, or says a human will confirm, depending on what your instruction told it to do.
Each answered conversation counts once against your monthly allowance, no matter how many messages it contains.
How to write the instruction
This is the whole configuration, so it is worth ten minutes. Three that work:
Product shop
- Post says
- “What you sell and the price”
- They comment
- Tone and limits
- Komently sends
- “You sell a €39 skincare set. Friendly, two sentences max. Never promise medical results. Always send the shop link. If they ask about a refund, say a human will reply.”
Coach or consultant
- Post says
- “The offer and the next step”
- They comment
- Tone and limits
- Komently sends
- “You book discovery calls for a business coach. Warm and direct. Answer questions about the process, never quote a price, always offer the calendar link.”
Local service
- Post says
- “The service and the area”
- They comment
- Tone and limits
- Komently sends
- “You are the front desk of a dental clinic in Lisbon. Polite and brief. Give opening hours and the booking link. For anything clinical, say the dentist will answer.”
What makes an instruction work
- Name the product and the price, or say explicitly not to quote one
- Give it a length: two sentences is usually right for a DM
- List what it must never say, not only what it should
- Always give it one link and one next step
- Tell it when to hand over to a human, and then actually reply
Turning it on
AI replies are part of the paid plan, with 50 conversations a month included:
- 1
Open an existing DM automation
AI sits on top of your keyword automations rather than replacing them: the keyword still opens the conversation, and AI handles what comes next. - 2
Turn on AI replies and write the instruction
One paragraph about your offer, your tone and your limits. Save it. - 3
Test it with awkward questions
Ask the things customers actually ask, including the ones you hope it will refuse. Adjust the instruction until the answers are right. - 4
Decide where humans take over
Refunds, complaints, custom quotes. Say so in the instruction and watch the inbox for handoffs.
What it does not do
The honest list, so you can plan around it:
- It is a paid feature. 50 conversations a month are included in the plan; top-ups and your own OpenRouter key are the ways past that.
- It does not write public comment replies. Those always come from your saved templates, which AI can help you generate.
- The window is two hours. After two hours of silence the conversation closes; a later message starts a new one.
- It answers, it does not go looking. Meta only allows replies to people who messaged you first, so this is never outbound.
- It is only as good as the instruction. Vague instruction, vague replies. This is the part worth iterating on.
If templates cover your questions today, start with the keyword auto reply guide and add AI when you see the questions you did not plan for.
