Message styles
Choose the tone of the DMs Komently writes for you — the first message and the email ask — and why they can't be free text.
When someone comments your trigger keyword, Komently sends them a short first DM with a button — tapping it delivers your content. That first message comes from Komently, and with Message styles you choose how it sounds. The same style carries through the email-collect conversation, so the whole exchange speaks in one voice.
What it is
Each style is a pool of professionally written phrasings in your automation's audience language. Komently rotates them automatically, so your account never sends the exact same DM to thousands of people — the pattern Instagram's spam systems watch for. You can also choose between several button labels.
Why you can't type your own
- Account safety. Identical first messages at volume are the classic spam signal that gets accounts restricted. Rotating pre-approved phrasings avoids it.
- Meta's messaging policies. Every phrasing is vetted: no pressure tactics, no misleading claims, and the button always does exactly what it says.
- Reliable button taps. Instagram occasionally delivers only the button's text instead of its data. Komently recognizes every label it has ever sent — free-text labels would break your automation for those taps.
Everything after the tap is yours
Your actual DM content, action buttons, and AI replies are fully customizable — the curated part is only the short first touch. The styles
- Friendly — warm and welcoming with light emoji (the default).
- Minimal — short and professional, little to no emoji.
- Hype — high-energy and enthusiastic.
- Curiosity — a playful teaser that invites the tap.
- Value-led — helpful and focused on what they get.
The email ask speaks the same style
When Collect Email is on, every line Komently writes in that exchange comes from the style you picked, in your audience language, and rotates the same way: the ask, the one gentle reminder, the typo check, the goodbye when someone declines, and the short "here you go" line in front of your content. Tell Komently what they're getting ("the checklist") and the ask names it instead of saying "the content".
Prefer your own wording?
Open Write your own ask instead under Collect Email. Your text replaces the ask; the reminders and the delivery line keep the chosen style. Keep it short and avoid spammy words — the form warns you about the risky ones. How to pick one
In the automation form's Content step, open Message style at the bottom of the page, pick a style and a button label, and check the live samples shown in your audience language. Style selection is available on paid plans; the Friendly default is always on for everyone — no setup needed.
