AI conversation top-ups
Exactly how AI conversations are counted, and how top-up packs work when you need more.
Short answer: one conversation = one person, on one automation — charged once, the first time the AI replies to them. Every follow-up message in that conversation is included free, no matter how many are exchanged.
How conversations are counted
A credit is used the first time the AI replies to a person on a given automation. From that moment, everything else that person says — three messages or fifty — is answered free.
- Message count never matters. A lead who says “thanks” and asks ten questions is still one conversation.
- Coming back later is still free (same month). Even if the chat goes quiet and the person returns days later to the same automation, they're already counted — no new credit is used for the rest of that calendar month.
- A different automation is a separate conversation. If the same person triggers another of your AI automations, that starts (and charges) its own conversation.
- A new month starts fresh. If the same person comes back and chats with the AI in a later month, that counts as a new conversation. This applies on all plans, including Lifetime and AppSumo one-time grants.
Very long single sittings
To keep runaway bot-to-bot loops from draining anyone's budget, one continuous chat session has a generous cap on AI replies. If it's ever reached, your saved template replies take over for the rest of that sitting — the lead still gets answered, and no extra credits are used.What never uses a credit
- Comment-to-DM sends — the automated DM someone gets after commenting is always unlimited and free, no matter the volume.
- Comment replies and template replies — anything answered from your saved templates.
- Everything, while your own AI key is connected — with BYOK active, zero credits are counted. See AI replies & credits.
When you run out
Nothing breaks. Your saved template replies take over automatically, so every lead still gets an instant answer — you just won't get AI-written replies until you top up, connect your own AI key, or (on monthly plans) your allotment resets at the start of the next month.
Top-up packs
Top-ups are one-time purchases of extra AI conversations — not a subscription. Three pack sizes are available; current sizes and prices are shown on your plan card.
- Top-up credits never expire. They roll over month to month until used.
- Monthly credits are spent first. Your plan's included conversations are always used before your top-up balance is touched.
- Missed leads are retried. If someone messaged while you were out of credits, the AI picks the conversation back up on their next message once you've topped up.
